For those of you who are not from the West Coast the tri-tip is probably a foreign word. The tri-tip is a cut of beef from the bottom sirloin primal cut. It is similar to a roast but has the flavor of a steak.

There are multiple ways to prepare a tri-tip: you can marinade it over night or even just do a dry rub right before you put it on. I personally do a dry rub then wait until the last 10 minutes of cooking and mop it with spicy Barbecue sauce. This creates a nice crust to the tri-tip while still having that awesome center flavor.

The best way to cook a tri-tip is to slow cook it over in-direct heat at 325 degrees. The ideal time for cooking is roughly 60 to 90 minutes depending on the size. As a rule of thumb you want to cook the meat 30 minutes for every pound. For example, if you had a 2-pound tri-tip 60 minutes should be about right.

Make sure you don't cook this directly over coals, as tri-tip tends to release a lot of fat grease that can fall on the coals and create massive flare up. Keep a cold beer handy in case there is a flare up to douse the flames.

If you want it to end up medium rare then pull the tri-tip off once the center reaches 140 degrees. It will still continue cooking after it has been pulled off SO DO NOT COVER IT WITH FOIL ONCE IT IS OFF. Too many people make the mistake of covering the tri-tip in foil before putting it on the grill. This tends to make the tri-tip gray and overdone.

It is best served warm and medium rare.

Its good to be as open and personable as possible because you want the director/casting director to want to work with you personally as well as professionally and any advantage is an advantage.

Try to keep any questions you may have to a minimum, time is precious and too many questions can seem overly ingratiating.

Your initial monologue should not really be more than two minutes long, have others of a similar length prepared, these should show the range and diversity of your talent, and also have a longer monologue prepared, just in case the Director requests it.

The director might ask you to reread after direction, so showing good listening skills is important, its better to ask questions than to assume that you know what the director wants accepting direction also requires flexibility, so avoid sticking too tightly to the same old way you've done the reading in the past, be prepared for a degree of unpredictability.

The Result

No article on acting audition tips would be complete without a word or two about rejection.

As you have just read there are many ways that you can improve your chances of getting a role, but most actors will get turned down for most jobs most of the time. You could do all of the above and more and still be overlooked, but you should not take this as a comment on your ability. The absolute #1 mig welding problem is a bad ground. Let me tell you a secret: your Mig welding machine is a cold hearted SOB! It does not care if you have a bad ground. It just keeps pumping out welding wire anyway. If you have ever pulled the trigger on a mig gun and it went Pop! Pop! Pop! and sounded like a drive by shooting, you probably had a bad ground. But take heart! It's not all your fault and it's an easy fix.

Mig welding machine manufacturers are in hot competition these days and just seem to cut corners on their ground clamps by not making them out of the best materials. Have you seen them? I mean please! They are so wimpy. But you can easily remedy the problem without even buying a new and better ground clamp.

Just get yourself some old welding lead or ground cable and cut off about two feet of cable. Then Strip off the insulation and tape the ends with electrical tape. Fold it in half and put the ends in a vise. Stick a screwdriver in the loop and twist it pretty tight. (When you are done it will look kind of like a French twist pastry.) Now you have a cool tool that gives you a constant ground. Why?

· Because it's copper, the best conductor of electricity.

· Its braided wire and has more contact areas than a rigid ground clamp.

When you clamp this thing to what you are welding using your old ground clamp, you have literally hundreds of little contact points that will never lose the ground...not even for a second. This is critical when mig welding because as I already mentioned, your mig machine does not know or care if you lose the ground for a second. It just keeps feeding wire. That is the number one cause for poor starts. Try it! This makes a much better mig welding ground clamp than what comes on most machines.

16. He who mentions numbers first loses.

17. After a long negotiation if and when you push too hard and they come back with "At this time we have decided to disengage from any further negotiations with you on this deal"...I learned the hard way that you can ONLY regain the upper hand if you don't respond at all. At ALL. Don't do it. Put the phone down. Don't hit send on that email. Give the stamps a break. Wait. Just let it simmer.

18. Use what negotiation tactics people use on you to get better. For instance, use "At this time we have decided to disengage from any further negotiations with you on this deal"- unless they read this post they won't no how to deal with it. If they need the deal more than you do, they will acquiesce and come back to the table willing to give you more.

19. Storm out of the room. In a controlled manner. Don't actually be mad. If you're mad you've lost control. Don't lose control, just let them know that something was so unacceptable you would rather be gone than consider it.

20. If you slam a shoe down on the table, make sure you're still wearing two shoes (or it will looked contrived). Yes, that's a famous negotiation tip and one many will remember being used by the Soviet leader Kruschev on the world stage

If you aren't from the West Coast then you may not be familiar with tri-tip. The tri-tip is cut from the bottom sirloin primal cut. It is considered a roast, but in truth it tastes much more like a great steak. That is why it is so popular.

You can prepare a tri-tip in different ways. You may want to marinade it overnight to seal in some great flavor (although tri tip has plenty of flavor on its own). Or you could use a dry rub the moment before you put it on the grill. Try doing a dry rub to start and then ten minutes before you pull it off, baste it with a nice helping of BBQ sauce of your choice. This will make a nice crust on the roast but it will still have that fantastic center flavor.

The right way to cook a tri-tip roast is over in-direct heat at 325 degrees. This is considered slow cooking as the time to cook it varies from 60 to 90 minutes depending on the pounds of the tip. A basic rule of thumb is to cook the tri-tip for approximately 30 minutes for every pound.

Don't grill the tri-tip directly over burning coals. Tri-tips often release plenty of fat grease and these can fall on the hot coals causing flare-ups. Have an ice-cold beer on hand to keep the flames down (and for yourself, you are BBQing, right?).

Tri-tip should be cooked medium-rare to medium, so pull the tri tip roast off when the center of the tip reaches 140 degrees. Whatever you do, do not cover the tri-tip with aluminum foil as this turns the meat grey and you don't get that nice steak-like crust that a tri-tip should have.

In this article I am going to share with you five teamwork tips to help create a more productive work environment. There are many rewarding opportunities when a team works well together and of course when a team fails to work well together the process can be very frustrating. When things are going well people will surprise you as hidden talents and strengths start to shine and the group is flowing together. I have had both rewarding and frustrating experiences working with groups. Here are five teamwork tips that have given me positive experiences.

1. Leadership- For a team to work well together there needs to be a person in the leadership position. Someone who will motivate, inspire, and make sure everyone is moving in the right direction.

2. Clarity- There should be a clear understanding of the purpose of the group. What are the team's goals? What is the team's purpose? What are we striving to accomplish? The clearer this is the easier for people to stay on track.

3. Responsibility- each member needs to have a clear understanding of what they are responsible for doing. Everyone should know what their job is, when it will be expected, and what the parameters are to work with.

4. Feedback- This is very important as people begin to share their ideas in the group setting. It should be supportive and whenever possible positive. This will help to create a comfortable environment where the team will take chances and be more creative. Learn how to give and receive negative feedback and criticism in a professional and respectful way. It is amazing what people can accomplish when they believe in themselves and are confident in the group.

5. Diversity- This is the most important one, it is what makes a team great. Support the differing strengths of your teammates and allow each person to bring their unique qualities to the project. There can be some incredible surprises when we are open to doing things in new and different ways.

Make Sure Your Reel Matches Your Rod - Whenever a spinning reel is purchased, on the packaging it says what weight it is: ultra light, light, medium, or heavy. You want the weight of the reel to match the weight of the rod, and you want the weight to match the type and size of fish that your fishing for. For example, if you're fishing for trout in small rivers and streams, you want to use an ultra light spinning reel and rod. Light action would be the heaviest in trout fishing situations such as these. This is also a great reason to not buy combination sets with the rod and spinning reel sold together. In most cases these combination sets arte made with very cheap rods and spinning reels. It's better to purchase the two separately, so that you can get the feel and balance that you desire.

Maintain Your Spinning Reel Properly - I personally make it a habit of cleaning my spinning reels before the start of every fishing season.
